Pre-Ordering the Switch 2: A New Adventure Begins
I still can’t believe I managed to snag a pre-order for the Nintendo Switch 2. After months of leaks, rumors, and endless refreshes, it finally happened — GameStop opened pre-orders, and somehow I locked one down before they vanished. I felt like I had just caught a shiny Pokémon in the wild.

Now the fun — and the hard part — begins: figuring out which games I’m going to dive into first.
You can find a lot of Nintendo Switch 2 Games here on Amazon. If you are lucky, you'll find the console too.
Nintendo didn’t hold back with the launch lineup. Here's what’s confirmed so far:
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of the Past – A massive sequel to Tears of the Kingdom with a brand-new time-travel mechanic.
Mario Kart X – Featuring a "Build-a-Track" system for fully customizable chaos.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond – Finally here, looking incredible with the Switch 2’s OLED HDR display.
Super Mario Odyssey 2 – Even bigger worlds, new power-ups, and couch co-op.
Splatoon 4 – New maps, new modes, and the same colorful madness.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2 – This time set across an archipelago of islands.
Pikmin 5 – Even smaller Pikmin, even bigger adventures.
Donkey Kong Country: Jungle Havoc – A new 2.5D platforming journey for DK fans.
Rune Factory: Seaside Serenade – A fresh Rune Factory game, set in a coastal town, blending farming, friendship, and fantasy like never before.
Third-party hits like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Resident Evil 4 Remake, and even Elden Ring: Shattered Realms, a spinoff built just for Switch 2.
The moment I saw Rune Factory: Seaside Serenade on the list, my plans got even more complicated. How am I supposed to choose between saving Hyrule, racing Mario-style mayhem, and building a new farm life while wooing NPCs?
Zelda was our first game for the original Switch. I may have to make sure to have at least one Zelda on Day 1 of Switch 2.
First instinct says I’ll jump into Zelda: Echoes of the Past for that classic launch day adventure hype. But I can already tell Rune Factory will sneak up and hook me for the long haul — farming, crafting, fishing, and dungeon crawling are a dangerously addictive combo. Plus, it’s the perfect kind of game to play in between intense sessions of Splatoon 4 or chilling out after late-night Mario Kart X tournaments.
The countdown has officially started. Soon, I’ll be tearing open that box, setting up the sleek new system, and getting lost in all these new worlds.
It’s the best feeling — like being a kid at Christmas again — but this time, I was smart enough to pre-order.
